Our History

Winridge Manor is a beautiful historic bed and breakfast and event venue located in Amherst County, just minutes north of Lynchburg, Virginia. The home, originally called Winesap, was built in 1910 by Wallace Taylor, the creator and manufacturer of the Piedmont automobile. In total, seven families have called the Manor “home” over the last 107 years.

Today, this completely renovated Greek Revival home boasts three porches with views of the sunset over the Blue Ridge Mountains. There are several beautiful gardens for you to stroll through.   The largest of these gardens, located directly in front of the house, features a large koi pond complete with a lit fountain, a waterfall, and a stunning gazebo – plus, there is always something gorgeous in bloom! Additionally, the new owners, John and Kelly Heckman, have added a large Pavilion that can host year-round events for up to 200 people. Guests at Winridge Manor are welcome to use the facility for an afternoon picnic or romantic dinner during their stay.
